Auto Repair in Mt. Shasta,CA

Driving north on Interstate 5 through Northern California, you’ll come to the city of Mt. Shasta, en route to the smaller town of Weed. Mt. Shasta is located in Siskiyou County, at about 3,600 feet above sea level and less than nine miles from the summit of its namesake volcano. Roughly 3,500 people live in this historic community.

The area in which Mt. Shasta was settled went first by the name Strawberry Valley, then Berryvale, under which the first post office opened in 1870. With the completion of the Central Pacific Railroad in 1887, Mt. Shasta saw a significant increase in tourism, lumbering and population. The city incorporated in 1905, with its name of Mt. Shasta finally made official in 1925.

Today, many people utilize Mt. Shasta as a base for trout fishing in the nearby Sacramento, McCloud and Klamath Rivers. Climbing the Mount Shasta volcano is another popular activity, in addition to a variety of nearby areas to view gorgeous natural scenery. Downhill and cross-country skiing dominate the winters, while biking and hiking to waterfalls, streams and lakes are enjoyable summer pastimes.
